About me
Nice to meet you, Simone. For over twenty-five years, photographic equipment hasn't been a passion for me, but an obsession that has defined my days.
Although I also consider myself a decent photographer, I'm essentially a technician, a natural-born product specialist who has always brought photography to every company I've worked for, with the (not-so-hidden) dream of one day working directly for a brand in the industry.
TThe PhotoGear4Fun Project
Taking photos is pure fun for me, and the right gear is what makes it all possible. Hence the name of the site! =)
I created PhotoGear4Fun to turn this obsession into something tangible: a reference point for professionals and enthusiasts looking for substance.
Obviously, the world of photographic gear is too vast for any one individual to cover in a truly specific way, so I've decided to focus PhotoGear4Fun strictly on the camera lenses of the four brands (Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, and Sony) that currently represent over 90% of the global market (Nikkei data).
You won't find AI-generated text here, only content I've personally written and verified. Behind every lens information sheet for Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, and Sony lies a methodical analysis: I've studied the manuals, analyzed the data, and summarized the key aspects to go beyond a simple list of specifications.
I don't review, I analyze. I believe that quality deserves traffic and that collaboration is more valuable than competition, which is why every lens information sheet is enriched with links to the best experts on the web.
Despite my firsthand experience with dozens of lenses, I eschew any fanaticism. PhotoGear4Fun was created to be a neutral territory: no brand wars, no factions. Only impartial analyses based on reliable data and genuine enthusiasm for the product, with the aim of best describing it.
However, I also have great admiration for smaller, niche companies that often, unlike the giants, dare to take less conservative approaches. That's why I've dedicated a specific section to "alternative lenses," a recognition of those who challenge the market with original solutions for Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, and Sony systems.
If you're looking for rigorous analysis, technical expertise, and a human approach, you're in the right place!
