Lomography
Lomographische AG, also known as Lomographic Society International, is an Austrian company founded in 1992, and 'Lomography' is the brand name used to market its photographic lenses.
The story goes that in 1991, on a trip to Prague, two Austrian marketing students purchased a camera, the Russian LC-A, and were completely amazed by the photos they took. Soon, interest in those photos and that specific camera began to build, and so, the following year, they founded their current company and obtained exclusive distribution rights for the LC-A camera outside of Russia. Camera produced by the Russian company LOMO, which gave its name to the current company and the Lomography movement that grew around it. The production of photographic lenses has historically been linked to the Russian Zenit (KMZ) factory, however the current geopolitical situation and Western sanctions against Russian Federation have forced new production to be suspended and moved to China.
